Step 1: Supplies

Paints and stains used in the final coloring are…

  • Gold spray paint
  • White gloss latex
  • Green wood stain

SUPPLIES

  • Sandpaper, various grits
  • Disposable gloves
  • Paint brushes of varying sizes

DON’T FORGET

  • Sanding block
  • Paintbrush comb
  • Drop cloths
  • Paper towels
  • Saw horses
  • Paint can opener
  • Mallet for reclosing paint cans
  • Paint caddy or other smaller container

Step 2: Prepare the wood

Gently sand the wood surface to clean off all dust for a smooth finish when the paint comes in . Make sure the stray dust is removed properly.

Step 3: Coloring the wood

The 1st color is golden which majorly goes on knots & unusual features of the wood. Just a light spray on a few places should be enough.

FurnishYourself_PaintingThe 2nd color is white latex with an almost dry brush. Just give random up down strokes with the brush. Do not overdo the paint and avoid thick paint coats.

The 3rd color is green wood stain which is the primary color giving that weathered feel. Again give random strokes with the brush. In case you’ve put too much color, you can use sandpaper and rub off the color.

After all the painting, let it dry and do up the room decor n furnishing in an old style method so that it compliments the rustic look you’ve wanted! Here’s how the room looks.
